Q&A highlights
Tarvinder recalled a UK cake factory where three generations of workers welcomed automation because it let the business export to Australia, Japan and Canada. People are complex, so HR will always need people. Luxsho added that repetitive roles are at risk, but technology mostly makes people more productive, as with bank tellers moved into new roles.
PeoplesHR has built AI into recruitment, onboarding and learning for organizations in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, including the Government of Uganda with half a million users. Self-service answers routine policy and leave questions, freeing HR for strategy. Tarvinder added that growing companies need systems, policies and clear interpretation of them.
Focus on one area. Find the biggest problem Tanzanian companies face, whether recruitment, pay, retention or incentives, and become really good at solving it. A product like that can succeed across the continent.
